Nemesis International Inaugurates New Diamond Polishing Factory

Diamonds have always been regarded highly by the masses. Not only is it a testament to nature's immeasurable beauty, a stunning gem with incomparable brilliance but also the hardest naturally occurring substance. Diamonds are used in industries for cutting not only rocks but also other diamonds. Hence, there is an increasing demand for well-polished and good quality diamonds. Crafting a good piece of diamond takes immense hard work, and not many companies can boast their ability to create a perfect diamond.

Seeing this need for stunning diamond pieces, Nemesis International, a diamond trading company based in Dubai, working with the DMCC (Dubai Multi Commodities Center), to establish a new polishing factory. The company aims to make processing of rough diamonds even more efficient by having the factory situated within their vicinity. This would undoubtedly help in cutting down unnecessary costs which can be better invested in state-of-the-art equipment.

Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman of DMCC, noted: "Our collaboration with Nemesis International brings a state-of-the-art diamond polishing factory with the latest in technology to Dubai, - and completes DMCC’s eco-system of services and infrastructure for the diamond industry at Almas Tower. To say that we are excited is an understatement as this can boost further trade into the Region, and provides the diamond industry with access to customs, vaulting, polishing, boiling, cutting, certification, transport and logistics services all under one roof.”

The new polishing facility sets a precedent in the region for the industry. The CEO of Nemesis International, Konema Mwenenge, supports the notion above by stating that the newest addition to the DMCC brings cutting edge technology and valuable services to complete the diamond services in one location. In no time, Dubai would be at par with New York and Mumbai as a contributor of polished quality diamonds.

"Up until this point, there were no hi-tech polishing factories that could process high-value diamonds in significant volumes with a quick turnaround. Having invested upwards of 2 million USD in cutting-edge equipment, Almas Diamond Services expects to turn over approximately 150 carats of diamonds per month and up to 3,000 carats within the first two years, with six weeks being the average time to polish a stone, a first for Dubai and the Middle East region,’ remarked Mr.Filip Hendrickx, General Manager of Almas Diamond Services. “Almas Diamond Services can now offer its customer a full* range of value-added services, from rough diamond boiling and evaluation services to state-of-the-art cutting and polishing.” These ambitions, backed by years of experience in the diamond-trading field and investment in high-tech equipment of over  2 million dollars. The customers can undoubtedly see the efforts the company is putting to get them the best of the best and look forward to the results.
